Remember Mitch Kahle, the leader of Hawaii Citizens for the Separation of State and Church who was assaulted after protesting unconstitutional Christian prayers the Hawaii state Senate?

Not only was he found not guilty of disorderly conduct, but the Hawaii Senate has now unanimously voted to end all daily prayers.

I consider this a great victory for the Constitution and an example for the other 49 states who have failed to do the same. Way to start the ball rolling, Hawaii! I hope other legislatures will see the wisdom in guarding the necessary separation between Church and State and follow suit.

That’s terrific news! It’s definitely a victory for church-state separation.

However, I expect the Religious Right to start complaining that “God is being driven out of government” and “Christians are being silenced,” etc., etc.

Good news indeed! This is the first time I’ve heard about Hawaii senate doing away with prayer.

Awesome! If America is going to hold it’s truths as a secular and rightful nation, it’s got to cast away biased traditions, or die in it’s own treachery.

Sensible conclusion. Too bad it took a beating and video to finally bring the matter to its proper end.

Congratulations to Mitchell Kahle and others at Hawaii Citizens for the Separation of State and Church.

I, too, would like to congratulate these brave people for what they’ve done. It takes guts to be willing to get beaten up for your ideals. I only hope that other states will follow suit. And, if not, that other people will do their best to get rid of this tradition that has no place in our government.

hallelujah!! I am so sick of all the prayers, prayer breakfasts, and religious nonsense in government! Very brave people–thank you!
